A tour of the RankKit SEO admin

Find your way around RankKit SEO in wp-admin: what each menu page does, where Settings and Tools live, and how the header, badges and save bar work.

Everything RankKit SEO does is under one RankKit SEO menu in the WordPress admin sidebar. This page explains what each screen is for, so you know where to look when a guide says "go to RankKit SEO → Redirects".

The RankKit SEO menu

Page What it's for
Dashboard Your site's SEO health at a glance: the health score, top issues, modules, recent changes and agent activity. See The Dashboard.
Content Edit titles, descriptions and focus keywords for every page in one table, and find duplicate titles and descriptions. See The bulk SEO editor.
AI Writer Turn a keyword into a content brief, then into a draft post. See AI writer.
Site Audit Every issue holding the site back, with a fix for each. Also page speed and competitor analysis. See Run a site audit.
Analytics Search Console and GA4 reports: what people search, what they click and where traffic is slipping. See Search and traffic reports.
AI Visibility AI crawler activity (free) and, with Pro, whether AI assistants mention and cite you. Shows a PRO badge on the free plan.
Schema Check the structured data every page outputs, and manage schema templates (Pro). See Schema overview.
Image SEO Images missing alt text, and the switch that writes alt text for new uploads. See Image SEO and AI alt text.
Redirects Redirect old URLs, plus the 404 monitor and 404 catch-all (Pro). See Redirects.
AI Agents Let Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another MCP client work on your SEO. See Connect an AI agent.
Change Log Every SEO change, who made it, and one-click undo. See The Change Log. In the RankKit SEO header it's an icon on the right, not a menu item.

The top-level menu shows a red count when agent changes are waiting for your approval. The same count appears next to Change Log.

The header

Every RankKit SEO page has the same header:

  • The RankKit SEO name and version number, for example v1.1.1.
  • The main navigation (the pages above).
  • Your plan: Free (with a lightning icon, linking to the upgrade page), Pro or Pro trial.
  • Three icon buttons on the right: Change Log (clock, with a red count when changes wait for approval), Settings (gear) and Tools. They aren't in the main navigation row.
  • A View site icon that opens your site in a new tab.

Settings

RankKit SEO → Settings holds your defaults for titles, social sharing, schema, sitemaps and AI. The tabs on the left are:

Tab What's there
General Title separator, home page title and description, noindex rules for thin archives. See Titles and meta.
Content types Title and description templates, default schema and noindex per post type and taxonomy. See Content types.
Social Default share image, X and Facebook accounts, X card type. See Social sharing.
Identity Organization or person, name, logo and social profiles. See Site identity.
Local SEO Your business details and opening hours. See Local SEO.
Languages Only when WPML, Polylang or TranslatePress is active. See Multilingual SEO.
WooCommerce Only when WooCommerce is active. See WooCommerce SEO.
Sitemaps Which content goes in your XML sitemaps. See XML sitemaps.
Robots & AI crawlers Allow or block AI crawlers and add robots.txt rules. See Edit robots.txt.
llms.txt Your llms.txt file. See llms.txt and Markdown.
Markdown Serve Markdown versions of your posts and pages. See llms.txt and Markdown.
Links External link rules. See External link rules.
Webmaster tools Verification codes and the GA4 tag. See Webmaster verification.
AI provider Your AI provider, key and daily limit. See Add your AI provider key.
Email reports The SEO email report. See Email reports.
Roles Which roles can use each part of RankKit SEO (administrators only). See Role manager.

When you change something, a save bar shows You have unsaved changes. Click Save changes. It then shows All changes saved.

Tip The open tab is kept in the page address (for example #crawlers), so you can bookmark a tab or send someone a direct link to it.

Tools

RankKit SEO → Tools has these cards:

RankKit SEO outside its own menu

  • Post editor: the RankKit SEO panel in the block editor (opened with the RankKit SEO button in the editor toolbar), a meta box in the Classic Editor and a drawer in Elementor. See Edit SEO in the block editor.
  • Posts and pages lists: an SEO column with each post's SEO score and focus keyword. See Content analysis checks.
  • Category and tag screens: a RankKit SEO section. See Categories and tags.
  • Admin bar: when agent changes are pending, administrators see SEO: N changes to review, linking to the Change Log.
  • Other SEO plugins: if Yoast SEO, Rank Math or another SEO plugin is active too, a warning offers to deactivate it. See Switch from another SEO plugin.
  • WordPress dashboard: an optional Website insights (RankKit SEO) widget, off by default. Turn it on with the Dashboard widget module.

Who sees what

Menu pages follow the Role manager. By default, editors, authors and contributors see the Dashboard, Content, Analytics, AI Visibility, Schema and Change Log pages and the editor panel. Redirects, Site Audit, Tools, Settings and AI Agents are for administrators. Administrators always see everything.
