Search engines and AI assistants try to understand who is behind a website: a company, a shop, a blogger. RankKit SEO tells them through the Organization or Person schema it adds to every page. Google can use it for knowledge panels and to show your logo, and it helps AI assistants connect your brand to its profiles and reviews.

You set this once, in RankKit SEO → Settings → Identity.

Who runs this site

The Who runs this site card: "Feeds the Organization or Person schema Google uses for knowledge panels."

Setting Default What it does
Organization / Person Organization Whether the site represents a business or organization, or a single person (a personal blog or portfolio).
Name Your site title The organization's or person's name. Leave it empty to use the WordPress site title.
Logo (Organization) or Photo (Person) Your theme's custom logo "Square, at least 112 × 112 px. Falls back to the theme's custom logo."
Social profiles Empty "One URL per line: LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Wikipedia…"

Click Save changes.

The social profiles become the sameAs list in your schema. RankKit SEO also adds your Facebook page URL and X (Twitter) username from Settings → Social automatically, so you don't need to repeat them here. See Social sharing.

Local business

When Organization is selected, a Local business card appears below. If you have a physical location, click Local SEO settings to add your address, phone number and opening hours. With Local SEO on, the card says "On: your address, map position and opening hours are in the Organization schema." and your Organization schema also gets a LocalBusiness type. See Local SEO.

What RankKit SEO outputs

Every page's schema graph includes one node for your site's owner:

  • Organization: name, url, logo, sameAs, plus address, phone, opening hours and price range when Local SEO is on.
  • Person: name, image (your photo) and sameAs.

This node is the publisher of your WebSite and the publisher of every Article, so all your pages point back to one consistent identity. More on the whole graph: How RankKit SEO's schema works.

Example output for an organization:

{
  "@type": "Organization",
  "@id": "https://example.com/#organization",
  "name": "Green Kitchen",
  "url": "https://example.com/",
  "logo": {
    "@type": "ImageObject",
    "@id": "https://example.com/#logo",
    "url": "https://example.com/wp-content/uploads/logo.png"
  },
  "sameAs": [
    "https://www.instagram.com/greenkitchen",
    "https://facebook.com/greenkitchen",
    "https://x.com/greenkitchen"
  ]
}

The site audit flags "No logo in schema" when there is neither a logo here nor a theme custom logo, and "No social profiles in your Organization schema" when an organization has no social profiles and no Facebook page.

FAQ

Should I choose Organization or Person?

Choose Person only if the site is about one individual, such as a personal blog, a freelancer's portfolio or an author site. Businesses, shops, publications and nonprofits should use Organization.

Will this get me a knowledge panel?

It helps, but it doesn't guarantee one. Google decides when to show a knowledge panel. Consistent name, logo and profile links across the web make it more likely.

My logo is not square. Is that a problem?

Google accepts other shapes, but a square image of at least 112 × 112 px displays best. If you leave the field empty, RankKit SEO uses the custom logo from your theme.
