Is the free version really free?
Yes, for unlimited sites, under the GPL. Pro adds AI visibility tracking, rank tracking, Search Console fixes, AI internal linking, bulk AI, schema templates, advanced redirects and a 404 monitor.
How is RankKit SEO different from Yoast SEO, Rank Math or All in One SEO?
All four cover the SEO essentials. RankKit SEO is built for the moment an AI agent edits your site: the MCP server is built in with no extra plugin, every agent write can be previewed with a dry run, approval mode holds changes until you approve them, and any change can be reverted from WordPress. AI runs on your own key, so there are no credits to buy.
Will I lose my SEO settings if I switch?
No. The importer brings titles, descriptions, focus keywords, robots settings, canonicals, social data and redirects across from Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress, The SEO Framework, Slim SEO and Squirrly SEO. Which AI assistants can work on my site?
claude.ai and ChatGPT connect by URL: WordPress shows a consent screen where you choose read only, content editor or full access. Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code and other MCP clients connect with a scoped token and a setup snippet that RankKit SEO writes for you.
Can an AI agent break my site?
Agent access is off by default. Tokens are scoped per area and can expire, writes can be previewed with a dry run, approval mode holds changes until you approve them, and every applied change can be undone, one at a time or as a batch.
Why bring my own AI key?
You pay your AI provider directly at cost, with a daily limit you set. There are no RankKit SEO credits to run out of and no markup. Use Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, OpenRouter, or a local model through Ollama, LM Studio or vLLM.
Does RankKit SEO send my content anywhere?
Only when you run an AI action, and only to the AI provider you configured with your own key. There is no RankKit SEO account to create, and Search Console and GA4 data goes straight from Google to your site.
Will RankKit SEO slow down my site?
RankKit SEO adds no scripts or stylesheets to your pages. On the front end it outputs meta tags and JSON-LD, plus the GA4 tag only if you turn that on.
Does it work with my page builder?
RankKit SEO has its own panels in the block editor, the Classic Editor and Elementor. Its content analysis also reads pages built with Divi, Oxygen, Breakdance and Bricks, but those builders do not have a RankKit SEO panel of their own.
What does AI Visibility measure?
You list the questions customers ask AI assistants. RankKit SEO asks them with live web search on your key and records whether your brand is mentioned, whether your site is cited, your position against competitors and which sources were cited. It is part of Pro.
Does llms.txt improve Google rankings?
No, and we will not pretend it does: Google has said llms.txt does not affect Google Search. RankKit SEO generates it, with Markdown copies of your pages, because it helps AI agents and tools read your site.
How do licenses, trials and refunds work?
