FAQ
Can I switch from Yoast SEO or Rank Math without losing my SEO?
Yes. RankKit SEO → Tools → Import from another SEO plugin finds data from Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress, The SEO Framework, Slim SEO and Squirrly SEO. Depending on the source, it copies titles, meta descriptions, focus keywords, robots settings, canonical URLs, social fields, primary categories and cornerstone flags. Exact-match redirects come across from Rank Math, Redirection, Yoast SEO Premium and Squirrly. RankKit SEO takes a backup first, never changes the old plugin's data, and lets you undo the whole import in the Change Log. See Switch from another SEO plugin.
Is the free version limited?
No. Everything outside RankKit SEO Pro is fully available with no time or usage limit, on any number of sites. RankKit SEO Pro is a separate download that adds the Pro features. See RankKit SEO Free vs Pro.
Is there a free trial of Pro?
Yes. RankKit SEO Pro has a 14-day free trial with no card needed, and it doesn't turn into a paid plan unless you buy. See Start the 14-day free trial.
Does RankKit SEO send my content anywhere?
Only when you use a feature that needs an outside service. For example, an AI suggestion goes to the AI provider you configured, with your own key. There are no RankKit SEO servers, no credits and no tracking. Freemius, the licensing service, only receives data if you opt in, start a trial or buy. See AI usage limits, costs and privacy.
Do I need to pay for AI?
No. RankKit SEO uses your own key with Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini or OpenRouter, so you pay the provider directly at their prices, with no markup. A local model through Ollama or LM Studio costs nothing. AI is optional: every SEO feature works without it. See Add your AI provider key.
How do I keep AI costs under control?
Set a Daily request limit in RankKit SEO → Settings → AI provider (200 by default; 0 means no limit). Pause all AI stops every AI request, including from agents, until you turn it back on. See AI usage limits, costs and privacy.
Can an AI agent break my site?
Agent access is off by default. Each token is limited to the areas you allow and to what its WordPress user can do. With approval mode on, which is the default, nothing an agent proposes goes live until you approve it, and every applied change can be undone. Site-wide changes, such as settings, redirects and robots.txt, always wait for an administrator's approval. See Approval mode, dry runs and undo.
Which AI clients can connect?
claude.ai and ChatGPT connect by URL, and you approve them on a WordPress consent screen. Any MCP client that supports Streamable HTTP also works, including Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor and VS Code; RankKit SEO shows a ready-made setup snippet for each. Connecting is free. See Connect an AI agent to WordPress over MCP.
How many MCP tools does RankKit SEO have?
101 on the free plugin and 128 with RankKit SEO Pro. Connecting Google adds a few more, and some Pro tools need WooCommerce. See the MCP tool reference.
Can I undo a change?
Yes. Every SEO change, from the editor, bulk edits, AI, imports or agents, is recorded in RankKit SEO → Change Log with the old and new value. Click Revert on one change or Revert whole batch on a batch. See The Change Log.
Will RankKit SEO slow down my site?
RankKit SEO adds no front-end JavaScript, apart from the Google Analytics tag if you add one. A small stylesheet loads only on pages that use its FAQ, How-to or Table of contents blocks. Modules you switch off don't run. Redirect rules are cached, so each request needs only one lookup. See Turn modules on and off.
Does it work with Elementor, Divi and other page builders?
Yes. Elementor gets a RankKit SEO drawer inside the editor, plus FAQ, How-to and Table of contents widgets. For Divi, Oxygen, Breakdance and Bricks, the content analysis, audit and AI features read the builder's content, and you edit SEO fields in the WordPress editor screen. See Elementor.
Does it work with the Classic Editor?
Yes. RankKit SEO adds a RankKit SEO meta box and a RankKit SEO Schema box to the Classic Editor. See SEO in the Classic Editor.
Does it work on multilingual sites?
Yes, with WPML, Polylang and TranslatePress. SEO fields can be translated, and RankKit SEO adds hreflang links (unless your multilingual plugin already does), og:locale alternates and language-aware sitemaps. It has been tested most fully with Polylang. See Multilingual SEO.
Does it support WooCommerce?
Yes. Product schema is built from WooCommerce data, and cart, checkout and My account pages are kept out of search and sitemaps. RankKit SEO Pro adds GTIN, MPN, ISBN and brand fields and more. See WooCommerce SEO.
How many focus keywords can I add?
As many as you need, on the free plugin and on Pro. The first one is the main keyword. See Focus keywords.
Why do I create my own Google Cloud client?
So your Search Console data goes straight from Google to your site, and no third-party server holds your tokens. Agencies can use one service account across many sites. See Connect Google Search Console and GA4.
Does llms.txt improve Google rankings?
No. Google has said llms.txt does not affect Google Search. It helps AI agents and tools read your site. See llms.txt and Markdown pages.
Does blocking AI training bots remove me from AI answers?
No. Blocking training bots such as GPTBot doesn't remove you from AI search answers. Search and browsing bots are listed separately, so you can block training and still allow AI search. See Control and track AI crawlers.
Is there a breadcrumbs block?
No. Breadcrumbs are added with the [speedrank_breadcrumbs] shortcode or the speedrank_breadcrumbs() template tag. See Breadcrumbs.
Does RankKit SEO have WP-CLI commands?
No. RankKit SEO doesn't register WP-CLI commands. Developers can use the REST API, hooks and filters or the MCP server.
Can I control which users see RankKit SEO?
Yes. RankKit SEO → Settings → Roles lets administrators choose which roles can use each part of RankKit SEO. It applies everywhere: the menu, the editor panel, the REST API and AI agents acting as that user. See Role manager.
What happens when I uninstall RankKit SEO?
Deleting the plugin removes RankKit SEO's database tables, options, cached data and scheduled tasks. SEO titles and descriptions stored on posts and terms are kept on purpose, so you don't lose your work if you reinstall. Deactivating the plugin keeps everything. See Deactivate or uninstall RankKit SEO.
What happens to my site if my Pro license ends?
Pro features switch off and RankKit SEO keeps working as the free edition. Your SEO data, titles, meta, redirects and settings stay on your site. See Manage your license.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Every Pro purchase has a 14-day money-back guarantee. See Refunds and cancellations.
