The Opportunities tab turns your Search Console data into a short to-do list: the pages that are slipping, the titles that don't earn the clicks their ranking deserves, and the searches where you're almost on page one. Each list has a one-click action next to the row.
It's the quickest way to find SEO work that pays off, because every item is something Google already shows you for.
Before you start
- Connect Google and choose a Search Console property.
- For Rewrite title, add your AI provider key.
Then go to RankKit SEO → Analytics → Opportunities. The lists use the date range at the top of the page (28 days by default) and compare it with the period before.
Pages losing traffic
Pages with at least 30% fewer clicks than in the previous period. Only pages that had at least 10 clicks before are included, so small pages don't flood the list. Pages that dropped to zero clicks are included too.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Page | The URL. |
| Clicks before → now | Clicks in the previous period and this one. |
| Lost | The difference. |
| Position before → now | Average position in both periods. |
Refresh opens the post in the editor. Update the content, and check that the title still matches what people search for. For a written plan of what to change, use Traffic Recovery.
Titles that underperform for their ranking
Pages on page one (average position 1–10) with less than half the click-through rate that's typical for their position. These pages rank well but people choose other results, which usually means the SEO title or meta description doesn't match what the searcher wants. Only pages with at least 100 impressions are checked.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pos. | Average position. |
| CTR / typical | The page's CTR and the typical CTR for that position. |
| Clicks missed | Roughly how many more clicks a typical CTR would bring. |
Rewrite title asks your AI provider for a new SEO title and saves it on the post straight away. The new title appears in a message, and the change is recorded in the Change Log, where you can undo it. Without an AI key, the button takes you to Settings → AI provider.
Keywords close to page one
Searches where a page ranks in positions 8–20 and has at least 20 impressions. A small improvement can move these onto the first page, where most clicks happen. The list is sorted by impressions.
Make focus keyword adds the query as the first focus keyword of the page that ranks for it (keeping up to five). The editor's content analysis then checks the page against that query, so you can work it into the title, introduction and a subheading.
Opportunities in other places
- With Google connected, the site audit gets a Search performance category with the same three checks: pages losing search traffic, titles that underperform and keywords close to page one.
- AI agents can read the lists with the
search_opportunitiesMCP tool, and the ready-made Search Console workflow uses them to propose new titles and descriptions for your approval. See Ready-made agent workflows.
FAQ
How is the "typical" CTR worked out?
RankKit SEO uses a fixed curve of typical organic click-through rates by position, from about 28% at position 1 down to about 2% at position 10. A page is flagged when its CTR is less than half of that.
Can I review an AI title before it's saved?
Rewrite title saves straight away, but you can undo it from the Change Log. To compare suggestions first, open the post and use Suggest with AI under the SEO title in the RankKit SEO panel of the block editor.
Why is a list empty?
Each list only shows pages that meet its thresholds. A short date range or a small site may not have enough clicks or impressions. Try 90 days.
