AI assistant in the editor: generate metadata and review content

The AI Assistant card in the RankKit SEO panel does two jobs with your own AI provider: it writes the SEO title, meta description and focus keywords for a post in one request, and it reviews the content the way an editor would, with a score and concrete improvements. It is free and works with the provider you set up in Add your AI provider key.

Before you start

• Add an AI key in RankKit SEO → Settings → AI provider. Without one, the buttons are disabled and the card shows "Add your AI provider key in RankKit SEO → Settings → AI provider to enable AI generation." with a Set up AI link.
• Your role needs the AI tools permission (Role manager). Otherwise the card says "Your role cannot use RankKit SEO AI."

Open the AI assistant

1. In the block editor, click the RankKit SEO button in the editor toolbar to open the RankKit SEO panel (Edit SEO in the block editor).
2. Choose Analysis in the menu on the left. The AI Assistant card is at the top.
3. Pick the Content Type and Tone. Both steer the wording of what the AI writes.

Setting	Options
Content Type	Blog post, Page, Product, Landing page, News article, How-to guide. It starts on the type that matches the post.
Tone	Professional, Friendly, Casual, Persuasive, Informative, Authoritative. The default is Professional.

Generate the SEO title, description and keywords

Click Generate with AI. In one request, RankKit SEO fills in:

• The SEO Title.
• The Meta Description.
• New Focus keywords, added after the ones you already have.

When it is done, you see "SEO title, meta description and focus keywords were filled in. Review them under General, then save the post." Nothing is saved until you save the post, so you can edit the results or undo them first.

The post needs a title or some content first; otherwise you get "Write a title or some content first."

Tip To choose between several options instead, use Suggest with AI under each field in General. It offers options to pick from.

Review your content

Click Analyze Content for an editor's review of the post. The result shows:

• A Content quality score from 0 to 100, with a one-line summary.
• What works: the strengths of the content.
• Improve: concrete changes to make.

The review needs real content to read, about 50 words or more. With too little text you get "Write at least a few paragraphs before analysing the content."

This review is separate from the SEO Score Analysis below it, which runs RankKit SEO's own checks in your browser without AI. The two complement each other: the checks cover keyword placement and length, the review covers clarity, depth and usefulness. See Content analysis checks.

Costs and limits

Each click on Generate with AI or Analyze Content is one request to your AI provider, billed by the provider on your own account. Requests count toward the Daily request limit in RankKit SEO → Settings → AI provider. See AI usage limits, costs and privacy.

FAQ

Does Generate with AI overwrite my title and description?

Yes, it replaces the SEO title and meta description in the panel. Your existing focus keywords are kept and the new ones are added after them. Nothing is saved until you save the post, so you can change them back.

Why are the buttons greyed out?

No AI provider is set up, or your role cannot use AI. Add a key in RankKit SEO → Settings → AI provider, or ask an administrator to give your role the AI tools permission.
