Monitor what agents do

See every tool call an AI agent makes, which token made it and whether it worked, plus the changes agents propose and how to review them.

RankKit SEO records what every AI agent does on your site, in two places. The Activity feed on RankKit SEO → AI Agents lists each tool call, including reads. The Change Log records every change an agent makes or proposes, with the old and new value.

Together they answer "what did the agent look at?" and "what did it change?".

The Activity card

Go to RankKit SEO → AI Agents and scroll to Activity, which shows the last 50 tool calls:

Column Shows
When How long ago the call was made.
Agent The token's name, followed by the client's name in brackets when the client sends one. Calls made with an Application Password show as "Application password: ".
Tool The tool that was called, for example run_audit or update_post_seo.
Result OK or Error, with a short detail: the status of a write (such as pending or applied) or the error message.

If nobody has connected yet, the card says No calls yet.

Tip Testing a new connection? Ask the agent to run site_overview, then reload RankKit SEO → AI Agents. The call appears at the top of Activity.

Per-token usage

The Agent tokens card shows, for each token and each claude.ai or ChatGPT connection, the Last used time and the number of calls it has made. A token that has never connected shows Never. Use this to spot tokens you no longer use and Revoke them.

Changes agents make

Every agent write is recorded in RankKit SEO → Change Log with:

  • the field and the object it changed (a post, term, image, setting or redirect),
  • the Before and After values,
  • the agent's name and the reason it gave,
  • the status: waiting for approval, applied, reverted or rejected.

Writes made in one call are grouped as a batch, which you can approve, reject or revert together. See Approval mode, dry runs and undo.

Where you see agent work elsewhere

Place What it shows
Dashboard → Agent activity The latest tool calls (tool, agent and time), with a link to AI Agents →.
Dashboard → Recent changes Recent changes with a source badge such as AI agent, with a link to Change Log →.
Dashboard → Agent access tile Whether agent access is on, and whether writes need your approval ("Writes need your approval") or apply at once ("Writes apply, revertable").
Dashboard notice "… SEO changes are waiting for your approval" with a Review button, when agent edits are pending.
RankKit SEO menu and admin bar The number of changes waiting for approval (administrators only).
AI Agents → Server → Waiting for approval The same count, linked to the Change Log.

Who can see this

Viewing RankKit SEO → AI Agents, including the Activity card, needs the AI Agents permission (administrators by default). Approving, rejecting and reverting changes needs Change Log approval. Both can be given to other roles in the role manager.

FAQ

Are read-only calls logged?

Yes. Every tool call appears in Activity, whether it reads or writes. Only writes appear in the Change Log, because reads change nothing.

How far back does Activity go?

The card shows the most recent 50 calls. For a complete history of changes, use the Change Log, which keeps entries for 180 days.

Can I tell which person's token made a change?

Yes. Each token is tied to the WordPress user who created it (the User column), and Change Log entries carry the token's name. Give each person or client its own token so the log stays clear.
